Sweet. Happy. Trusting. Maya Jane Clark has made a horrible discovery. The life she built with her Love is a complete and total lie.
Maya discovers, like something out of a horror movie, the unexplained physical pain, fuzzy memories and strangers appearing around her have a far more sinister explanation. This is no movie, this is real-life. This is HER life and it is at risk of being taken from her forever.
This is the true story written by an abuse survivor. She’s ready to share her story with others to help transform their world for the better. Safe In Harm’s Way is standing by her side, holding her hand and changing the world with three components in mind:
Confidence. Patience. The truth.
Some names and locations have been changed to protect the innocent, and the not so innocent. Turns out, when you deal with abusive and Cluster B Personality Types, the guilty folks tend to get really pissed when they’re exposed. Consequently, and really purposefully legally, names and places have been changed to offer protection to the survivors and all those they love, who still live in fear.
Journey through Maya’s liberation from the very first second of connecting and falling in love, through the aftermath of leaving what became an extremely abusive relationship. How did she ever remain safe when she was constantly in harm’s way? We will walk the road with her in each horrific and joyful step. (Yes, there is joy and laughter and skipping and wonderful discovery.)
Once she chooses to leave her abuser, how does she remain safe, when his history, deviant actions and lies place her in harm’s way? There are actions and lists and protocol other survivors can use if they want to escape an abusive relationship. We will provide it all
But wait….there’s more. What else has been won on this journey? Within the answers to the above questions, we will create the ever-expanding web of goodness that helps to change the world. How? Some really cool and intelligent ideas:
- Ideas and best practices on holding abusers accountable.
- Working really hard to eliminate the question, “Why didn’t you just leave?”
- Training development to assist employers in retaining and assisting employees who have been abused.
- Employer training to monitor internal systems, knowing when an employee is using company resources; travel, corporate cards, cell phones and computers to inflict abuse.
- A comprehensive approach to solve the $8 billion problem of domestic abuse without risking the reputation and the profits of the employer.
Seems like a lot. Safe In Harm’s Way will chart a pathway, one step at a time.
Maya is #intentionallyfearless and she intends to record every moment of her journey.
Our story begins with Maya Jane Clark and Marc De’Saude.
By clicking on this link, you are confirming to be over the age of eighteen and born on or after January 1, 2001. This novel contains graphic explanations of abuse and manipulation; including sexual content, foul language, mature sexual situations, financial abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, sex trafficking, various other manners of abuse and manipulations, extended abuse and stalking, plus many other actions that are hurtful and make you want to vomit. Why should we have an agreement to be over eighteen? Because here is the deal- abuse is not pretty. It can’t be tied up in a nice little bow where the package is received and tender hearts aren’t hurt by reading what one human purposefully does to another, all the while proclaiming to love them. By clicking the link you agree to be exposed to the subject matter housed within each and every chapter, and not claim that the abuse is too ugly and sad. (It’s real. It’s honest.) Nor can you claim it’s pornographic. (It’s real. It’s honest.) To twitch a bit on the lyrics of Carly Simon’s song, “You’re So Vain” if any person bets this song (book) is about you, don’t you…don’t you….don’t you? They’d be wrong.
